Dunnville Health Centre Volunteer Association
DHCVA (Dunnville Health Centre Volunteer Association).
In 2007 DHCVA was incorporated as a non-profit organization with a Board of Directors, the original Hospital Aid of 1932 creed to care, comfort, support for patients and medical staff at both campuses continues to this day.
Our dedicated volunteers in navy vests assist staff in providing care, comfort, support to the patients/residents in HWMH (Haldimand War Memorial Hospital) and EG (Edgewater Gardens). As Porters, assisting in ER, customer service in the Gift Shops, Recreational Therapists, Info Desks, Happy Gardeners’, to name some of our 12 current programs.
DHCVA is mandated by our provincial governing body The Hospital Auxiliaries Association of Ontario (H.A.A.O) to raise funds for projects that will aid the comfort and care pf patients and residents; includes hospital equipment that is required by staff to maintain the level of excellence in patient/resident care.
Fund raising. Participation of volunteers in the 2 Gift Shops, Penny Sale, Bake and Cookie Sale, Basket Draws HELPP ticket sales. The net proceeds contributed to the following projects décor update of the Quiet Room, Bursaries, blinds for staff room pledge for Cataract Surgery basic lens.
In 2017 DHCVA plan fund raising campaigns for the new Emergency Department.
Donations to the Memorial Fund in memory of relatives and friends received from funeral homes, at the HWMH Gift shop or by mail to Memorial Fund Treasurer, 206 John Street, Dunnville, ON N1A 2P7 are used for patient comfort projects. The names are recorded in “Book of Remembrance” on display in HWMH
